The date for the Federal election has been announced. As yet, the future of funding for school chaplaincy around Australia is undecided. We are asking for your help to gain a commitment from both major parties to ongoing funding for this wonderful program.

Please go to the Schools Ministry Group website – www.smg.asn.au – and find the blue box near the bottom of the main page “Click here to contact your local politician and encourage them to continue funding School Chaplaincy in Australia” to directly email your local member of Parliament.

This sort of action, by people like you around Australia , was crucial in gaining an extension of funding for school chaplaincy until the end of 2011, and we urge and encourage you to again make known your support of school chaplaincy, the value it is to your local school, and of your desire to see the funding continue beyond 2011.
